Our Mission
At Book Fairies, our mission is to provide a welcoming space for all book lovers in Tehachapi. We believe that everyone deserves access to literature and aim to make reading accessible to everyone.

Laura Checa
Laura is an avid reader and talented illustrator. To many people, she is the barista at One Fine Day Cafe in downtown Tehachapi. She is a longtime resident of Tehachapi. She hopes to use her artistic talents to make our shop cozy and beautiful.
Christiana Mellein
Mother of two and lifelong human being, Christiana has been enamored with the idea of owning a bookstore since childhood. Finding a kindred spirit in Laura, they are now pursuing their mutual dream and having a lot of fun along the way. She lives in town with her children, dogs, cat, rabbit, and is always happy to have a friend or two nearby.
Our Vision
To build a brand new gathering place in Tehachapi, for Tehachapi. We love this town and think that a bookstore would be just another great addition.
